Guaranteed issue life insurance is a good option

These policies are offered with No Medical Questionnaires and are truly guaranteed issues. Before considering this type of product, we highly recommend looking at the No Medical Exam Insurance, which requires you to complete medical questionnaires. It is a better option as they offer more coverage for the dollar than the guaranteed issue products. Usually, the coverage amount of guaranteed issue life insurance offered is limited to about $25,000, sufficient to look after final expenses. Smaller coverage amounts are available, which can be purchased from several companies.

  • The premiums and the coverage will stay constant no matter what

  • Guaranteed issue life insurance does not require medical exams

  • The application process is quick and 100% done online over the web

  • Policies are often delivered very quickly and are also available electronically

Been declined for insurance? Consider guaranteed policies

Where guaranteed issue policies are of most value is when significant preexisting medical issues prevent someone from qualifying for traditional life insurance. Then the extra costs are well worth it. However, make sure you are appropriately guided, understand the questions, and answer them correctly. We have been in the life insurance business for a long time. We specialize in helping people find the most cost-effective solution for guaranteed issue products. Our common-sense advice is – having some insurance is always appreciated by your loved ones compared to the alternative of having no life insurance at all. We can help.

Guaranteed issue vs. no medical exam life insurance

These two kinds of insurance products frequently confuse the general public as the same type of policy, but they are two very different kinds of life insurance products. We have found that people frequently get them mixed up at a considerable cost to their budget. They buy far more expensive than necessary or get much less coverage than they could otherwise obtain. If you are a person of average health, check out No Medical Exam Life Insurance for healthy Canadians. This type of policy is priced like a traditional insurance policy, but there is no paramedical or nurse visit for specific age groups and insurance amounts.

There are traditional life insurance products that are very competitively priced, often refered to as Term Life Insurance. These also offer No Medical Exam Life Insurance options if you are of average health or poor health but acceptable pre-existing conditions, you can still save money.

No Medical Exam Life Insurance

This is a typical kind of life insurance marketing tactic. You will see it advertised on the television or online or in print when looking for Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance. Several companies in this market often send out solicitation flyers and mailings. These kinds of insurance companies advertise that:

  • “No one will call on you.”
  • “No medical is required.”
  • “Instant issue but only after answering medical questions.”

If this sounds familiar, you may have seen several of these types of advertising by insurance marketing companies. The problem with this type of life insurance is that you will likely pay too much for your coverage to avoid having to see a nurse and provide some blood work. We have also found that the questions on some of these applications are not that clear, which may lead to claim denials, and the person who completed the application is no longer around to argue at claim time.

Another aspect of some of these plans is the marketer is not the insurance company underwriting the coverage. At claim time, when your family call to file a claim, they are often told that they have to work it out with the insurance company. We are independent brokers. Make sure you know who you are dealing with before you buy.

We have access to many guaranteed issue products

When you consider these products, each insurance company has a different set of questions that the answer needs to be “No” to qualify for this type of life insurance. These questions are in the applications, and our advisors will guide you through this process. We will help by interviewing you properly for suitability. Perhaps, other term life or whole life insurance products that are cheaper may be available to you, even with some pre-existing conditions. Below are samples of some of these questionnaires from several companies.

Edge Benefits is considered a Third Party Administrator, focused on providing selected products like guaranteed issue life and critical illness insurance up to $25,000, underwritten by various insurance companies, e.g. ACE INA Life Insurance Company underwrites their Final Expenses plan. It is a guaranteed issue product, and consequently, no health questions are asked. Consequently, it has a two-year deferral, during which time, if the insured passes, the premiums plus interest are refunded. The considerations are fundamental as it is a guaranteed issue. We have sold several policies with no issues as the application is straightforward, given there are no medical questions.
